The episode delves into Bes's role as a guardian of dreams and the importance of remembering those who protect us quietly, without the need for grand ceremonies or temples.

Follow the Mythical Madam::

www.instagram.com/themythicalmadam

www.youtube.com/@themythicalmadam

Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/42PggKZ

Listen on Spotify:

The Mythical Madam Podcast is Produced and Edited by Andy Lara and Jon Armstrong at SunFaceMedia. www.sunfacemedia.com

The Lie We All Made To Believe

Why we stopped listening to the things that live just beneath the surface.

The Mythical Madam

Why we stopped listening to the things that live just beneath the surface.

There’s a lie you were told.

It didn’t come from your parents.

Not from school.

Not even from a screen.

You absorbed it quietly—like fog.

Soft.

Harmless.

Insidious.

The lie is this:

The world is fully explained.

That the strange is just a glitch.

The ancient is just a metaphor.

That if something can’t be Googled, it isn’t real.

But here’s the truth:

We’ve buried things.

Whole civilizations of stories.

Whole forests of forgotten gods.

Whole oceans of creatures that don’t play by our rules.

They didn’t disappear.

We just got really good at pretending they never existed.

---

Here on The Mythical Madam, I write about the truths we used to whisper before the world got loud.

Not because I think myths are entertainment.

But because I think they’re evidence.

Of what we feared.

Of what we worshipped.

Of what we used to believe… and maybe still should.

If you're still reading, your instincts are louder than the algorithm.

And that means you're my kind of person.

🖤 Subscribe now if you crave something a little more haunted, a little more human, and a little less… filtered.

🎙️ Strange myths.

🌒 Hidden legends.

🔥 Ghosts you might’ve forgotten.

👇 Subscribe to The Mythical Madam

Because deep down, you already know this world isn’t what it seems.

Something’s Breathing Under the Bed (and I think it’s kind of sweet)

A love letter to the eerie, the almost-forgotten, and the oddly… comforting.

The Mythical Madam

A love letter to the eerie, the almost-forgotten, and the oddly… comforting.

No, seriously.

It started as a thump. From moon gods and spirit warnings to ancient taboos, the first day of the week was never meant to be normal.

You ever wake up on a Monday and just feel like something’s off?

Like there’s a fog over the world—and you’re walking through it half-asleep, half-haunted?

You're not alone. And it’s not just the coffee withdrawal talking.

Welcome to The Mythical Madam—where I dig into strange myths, eerie folklore, and ancient chaos from around the world. And today, I’m dragging you into the shadows of Monday.

Why is Monday Named After the Moon?

Let’s start with the name.

Monday = Moon Day.

In Latin? Dies Lunae.

French? Lundi.

Tagalog? Lunes.

Every version whispers back to the same force: the moon—that ancient, luminous ghost hanging over our heads.

And in mythology? The moon is never just, pretty. It's powerful, untouchable, and deeply unsettling.

In Norse myth, the moon is chased by a wolf.

In Japanese lore, it's ruled by an exiled god.

In African cosmologies, the moon is a clock for divine justice.

So no, Monday was never going be gentle

• In Slavic folklore, Mondays were unlucky days to begin new tasks.

• In Babylonian astrology, it was considered risky to travel or make major decisions.

• In rural Chinese belief, Monday was when spirits returned to roam.

Kind of makes that 8 a.m. meeting sound less horrifying, huh?

Here’s my theory:

Every story begins with a test.

The first trial is always the roughest—the one that breaks you, or shapes you.

And Monday? That’s your mythical beginning. It’s not cursed. It’s just sacred.

It's the moonlit threshold between who you were and who you're becoming—and transformation never feels comfortable.

What's Coming on The Mythical Madam

Every other Tuesday, I drop new episodes diving into eerie legends and lesser-known mythology. And soon, we’re heading into stories about:

A creature who splits itself in half… and leaves it's legs behind to hunt under moonlight.

A cursed soul who dared to chase a goddess—and now spins forever on a burning wheel in the sky.

A faceless phantom who wanders without identity… and might already be watching you.

If you love mythology, mystery, and moon-drenched chaos, you're in the right place.

Listen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Substack, or YouTube.

Subscribe for updates, behind-the-scenes lore, and myth drops you won’t find anywhere else.

Monday isn’t just a day.

It’s a summoning.

And lucky for you, you’ve already answered.

🖤 June

Some Doors Only Open When You're Alone

It always happens around the middle of the night.

The Mythical Madam

It always happens around the middle of the night.

That hour when the world feels hollow. It’s been sunshine, humidity, and more shave ice than I care to admit.

And of course, being here has me completely curious (read: mildly obsessed) with the local myths and legends. If you’ve been around, you know I can’t resist a good eerie folktale… so don’t be surprised if some Hawaiian stories sneak their way into my future episodes or posts. There’s way too much fascinating (and spooky) history here to ignore.

But that’s a future problem — for now, I just want to check in.

How was your 4th? Did you celebrate? Escape the crowds? Hide inside with snacks and AC? Or maybe just treat it like a random Thursday?

Also… how are your pets holding up? I know fireworks can be rough on them. If your pets are still giving you side-eye or hiding under the couch, give them an extra cuddle from me. You know I’m a sucker for a good pet story — feel free to share if they survived the chaos or had their own little adventure.

That’s all from me for now — but I’ll be back soon with more of the usual weirdness… and maybe a few stories from the islands. 😉

Talk soon,

— June 🌺

The Storm Has Passed… But the Shadows Are Just Beginning.

Last time on The Mythical Madam Podcast, the skies cracked open.

The Mythical Madam

Last time on The Mythical Madam Podcast, the skies cracked open. Lightning danced across the heavens.

And the storm? She had a name.

We followed Moni Mekhala, the goddess of light, locked in an eternal clash with Ream Eyso, the thunder giant—two ancient forces tangled in a battle that still echoes through the rain.

But storms always leave something behind…

And now, as the clouds clear, the world feels quieter.

Maybe a bit…too quiet.

The kind of quiet where something… watches.

In the coming episodes, we drift from the wrath of the skies into the chill of ghost stories, the weight of ancient betrayal, and the unsettling whispers of forgotten folklore.

First, we’ll walk the silent streets of Japanese legends, where strangers seem familiar… until they don’t. Where faces vanish, but the unease lingers. Urban legends, paranormal encounters, and the eerie feeling that maybe… you’re not alone.

Then, we’ll descend into the heart of Greek mythology, where ambition tangles with punishment, and the line between mortal pride and divine fury disappears. Some mistakes echo for eternity—and some souls? They never stop spinning.

Creepy folklore, ancient myths, supernatural tales, and the shadows that stretch beyond history—this is what’s waiting. The question is… are you ready to listen?

Subscribe now to The Mythical Madam—where the storm may be over, but the real haunting is just beginning.
